In just a few hours, the daunting big 2 0 1 4 is here.
To countdown to the New Year, I would like to reflect the 10 big events of 2013 that are significant and things that I am grateful for.
No.10: I have finally graduated from University. After three grueling years of cramming notes and lectures, I received a piece of paper with my degree and name on it and whole lot of low self-esteem.
No. 9: After 6 years of savings, I have finally gotten my babies. My Nikon D700, 50mm and 85mms lenses and a Nikon film EM camera. I have not gone anywhere without either of them since.
No. 8: Starting my project 52. Although it’s only week 17 (oops, I’ve got to hurry and update my post), I feel that I’m starting to be a better photographer. But I can’t be satisfied yet, as I have more to learn and improve.
No. 7: Did a design internship at a magazine and realize I really do want to be a photographer for a travel and lifestyle magazine .
No. 6: Finally did shark cage diving with the Great White sharks at Cape Town.
No. 5: Found a whole bunch of awesome photographer friends that have both inspired and believed in me from NUS photographic society.
No. 4: Spending time with my entire family at Lagos after being months apart from my dad.
No. 3: I’m starting to put on make-up, which I have been loathing to put on before (I’m still reluctant at times though)
No. 2: Finally found my two living dinosaurs who make me feel wonderful for being myself and more.
No. 1: My most important drive : to all of you who are reading this post in , for appreciating my works, for motivating me to continue on with my photography. Thank you. (And sorry I have rather inactive at time as it seems a bit weird like I’m talking to a giant black hole at times .)
My vow for 2014: To be better in my photography with stronger concepts and kick-ass photographs (and maybe get my first Daily Deviation )
If you look at it at a different perspective, it’s just the number 2013 plus 1.
Anyways, to a blank new book write 365 days of unforgettable history pages!
Chilling with a mocktail with mongooses,
F.
